Sources and update policy
Named authorities
Recall records come from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall service. Drug-shortage records come from the FDA openFDA Drug Shortages source. Every record links to its authority and carries the CiteFacts retrieval time.
Refresh and history
The production workflow checks both sources daily, validates each candidate snapshot, compares stable record fingerprints, and publishes only after the public contract passes. No-op checks, schema drift, missing records, and observed changes are kept distinct. Source availability or a failed validation can delay a refresh.
Authority boundary
Official source notices can change and always control. CiteFacts does not promise completeness beyond the stated published corpus, and it never converts a missing source field into a zero or a clean bill of health.
